Miki is a Paediatrician with a special interest in Paediatric Emergency Medicine. Her main job is as a Consultant in the Children’s Emergency Department, looking after Children attending the Alex’s A&E. Miki's particular interest is in managing trauma and she is the Paediatric trauma lead for the Alex. She is also the Clinical Guidelines lead in the Alex which means she is responsible for developing clinical guidelines and ensuring our guidelines are kept up to date.
Her other roles include looking after children in our short stay unit and the Paediatric high dependency unit, and she also holds out patient clinics in the Alex. In addition, Miki is one of a team of Paediatricians who supports the Paediatric Burns and Plastic Surgery service at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead.
Miki qualified from the University of Leeds in 1998 and undertook her Paediatric training in Yorkshire. She completed her Paediatric Emergency training at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, and the Sheffield Children’s Hospital in the UK. She is a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, and the Association of Paediatric Emergency Medicine. Miki holds a degree of Master of Medical Science in Child Health, for which she received a distinction following her research and dissertation in non-invasive ventilation in children with bronchiolitis.
