Surgical masks and visiting restrictions remain in place in our hospital

Final lockdown measures eased in England on 19 July, but guidance for our hospitals has not changed. In order to keep staff, patients and visitors safe, NHS visitor guidance remains in place across all health services including the Alex.

All staff, patients and visitors must wear a surgical facemask when they are in our hospitals. This is to keep patients and staff safe and limit the spread of Covid. This is in line with guidance from Public Health England and is the same for all health facilities across Sussex. If you do not have a surgical face mask these are provided at our entrances.

We also ask that you maintain social distancing as much as possible. This means if you are a parent bringing a child to hospital, you must only bring the child who needs care.

Please note that visiting in our hospitals is still restricted. You can read more in the visitor guidance.
