Learning and development for all staff

We are committed to the development of our staff and have good facilities for training.

The Audrey Emerton Building was purpose-built on the RSCH site for undergraduate and postgraduate training and is also used as a general education and meeting centre.

Our e-learning platform, iris, is the online hub for education and training at the Trust. It houses our mandatory training and other courses from medical education to IT training and leadership.

Our learning and development team provides ongoing training including:

  • General skills training
  • National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) in health and associated subjects
  • Leadership and management development

We also have numerous specialist subject training providers, including infection control, medical devices, and health and safety.

There is also department-specific training and non-clinical training undertaken. Within the clinical divisions, there are practice development teams and specialist clinical skills training courses.
