No scrubs

One morning I arrived at work to be told that all frontline staff were required to wear scrubs. I had no idea how to obtain scrubs. Eventually I wandered over to the laundry unit and got three sets, which I took home and washed at the end of the week.

The happiest day of your life

A young man was on the inpatient unit having had a severe stroke. His wife was due to give birth to their first child at Worthing Hospital. I discussed it with the labour ward at Worthing who were really helpful and accommodating and he was able to be there for the birth of his first child. He has remained in hospital ever since.

 The wave

One morning in May, guidance was passed down that patient visiting was to be suspended. This was very challenging, especially for patients who have significant cognitive and communication issues and are here for prolonged periods of time.
