The Sussex Rehabilitation Centre is part of University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. It provides post acute neuro rehab for people with a Sussex GP who have a new diagnosis of acquired brain injury of such complexity that they cannot be managed safely in the community. The conditions treated by the Consultant led specialist multidisciplinary team includes stroke, traumatic brain injury, GBS, critical illness, neuropathy incomplete, usually non traumatic spinal cord injury, brain tumours, MS relapse and complex amputees from Brighton and Hove area. It is a short stay unit.
The service does not accept people with functional neurological disorders, those with severe challenging behaviour and progressive neuro degenerative conditions.
