They nursed dying patients, for some this was a new experience…

I was impressed by the courage and commitment shown by our children’s critical care nurses, particularly during the second wave.

They have had no training in nursing adults, but they worked caring for critically ill adults with Covid.

They showed compassion to these often older patients, away from their families. It was stressful for the nurses, so much was new to them and they worried about getting something wrong or missing something out.

They nursed dying patients, for some this was a new experience. Their resilience and the care they gave to their patients and to each other was exemplary.
