Sussex Rehabilitation Out-Patient Service – Brighton and Hove

The service provides assessment, treatment and advice to people with neurological impairment, including stoke, traumatic brain injury and Multiple Sclerosis.  It is run by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.

The objectives of the service are to improve physical wellbeing, functional status and decrease the care needs of patients. Orthotic appliances are provided where necessary. The service offers prosthetic services, counselling and information services. Consultant led clinics on spasticity, general rehab and mobility clinics.

Out-patient follow-up is also provided for patients from Sussex who have been in-patients at Sussex Rehabilitation Centre (Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath). The service is for individuals with identified problems as a consequence of a neurological impairment who are over 16 years old.

Written referrals are received from GPs, hospital consultants and other health professionals in the community eg, the community rehabilitation teams.
