Making May Purple is the Stroke Associations annual campaign on stroke awareness.
Taking action quickly can save lives and possibly reduce long-term disability. The Stroke Association has made this easy with its FAST test to help you recognise the most common signs:
- Facial weakness: Can the person smile? Has their mouth or eye drooped?
- Arm weakness: Can the person raise both arms?
- Speech problems: Can the person speak clearly and understand what you say?
- Time to call 999: if you see any of these signs.
Make sure you and your loved ones all know the FAST test.
Remember we have models, posters and teaching packs for you to borrow and use for your teaching to staff and service users.
