The NHS, social care and public health in Sussex and East Surrey have today published their Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) submission.
Like the other 43 areas (being called footprints) in the country, Sussex and East Surrey have been asked by NHS England to produce an STP to set out how services need to change over the next five years.
The plan builds on work already underway to transform local health and social care services in Brighton and Hove.
The appointed lead of the Sussex and East Surrey STP, Michael Wilson CBE, Chief Executive of Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “This is a challenging and really important piece of work. We need to plan now to ensure that our precious health and social care systems work closely together to provide the care that people want, within the resources that we have available.”
“Our pledge to our workforce and our community is that we want to get this right; and we need our community’s views in order to do that. So, apart from robust governance structures; we will use all the means at our disposal to involve workforce, patients, carers, the public and health and care professionals at every stage.”
