The podiatry service in Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust aims to provide a comprehensive range of foot health services to the general population.
There are of course limitations to access, based on medical need, the level of risk associated with the foot problem or associated medical conditions, and to a lesser extent, what is actually available in a particular place or area.
The teams consist of podiatrists (suitably qualified allied health professionals), assistants and administrators. Some of our specialist practitioners work across many areas to provide specialist services.
At each site we provide general foot care for eligible patients, diabetic patient assessment and treatment, high risk patient assessment and treatment and can provide advice leaflets on a range of foot problems on request. In a few sites we also provide nail surgery, for ingrown toenails, paediatric (children’s) service and Musculoskeletal assessment and treatment (usually as part of a wider orthopaedic service).
