NHS Breast Screening Programme Update

As reported in the press yesterday, a technical problem with the national breast screening database resulted in a number of women not receiving the breast screening appointment which they should have had between their 68th and 71st birthdays.

Public Health England are writing to everyone affected by this error from 14th May 2018 onwards to invite them for a catch-up breast screen.

A national helpline has also been opened to answer any specific concerns which this news may have raised. The number is 0800 169 2692. If you have moved house or changed GP since 2009, and believe that you have missed your appointment, please contact the national helpline to update your details.
