Meet our new Clinical Librarian for Women’s and Children’s Services

We’re delighted to welcome Katie Barnard as our new Clinical Librarian. Here’s more about Katie in her own words:

“Hello, I’m Katie, the new Clinical Librarian for Women and Children’s services. I’m thrilled to have joined such a wonderful library service, and am also looking forward to getting out and about (even if virtually) meeting the clinical teams I’m supporting.

“I’ve had stints working in academic and school libraries, but I found my home in health libraries. I was a clinical librarian for five years at North Bristol NHS Trust before moving into a corporate-supporting role, and am delighted to be back where I’m happiest in a clinical-facing role.

“When not working, my time is mostly consumed by my three-year-old daughter. In a previous life I enjoyed hiking (and generally being outdoors), speaking and reading Spanish, and travelling – I’m hoping to resume these activities one day!”

Katie will work four days p week (not Tuesdays) and will be based on the RSCH site with regular visits to PRH.
