Guidance on Hybrid Teaching from our TEL Team

In early April, Yannis and Efterpi of the TEL team were invited to present at the University Health & Medical Librarians Group 2022 Spring Forum.

With the growing need for online and hybrid learning, the presentation focused on guidelines and advice for conducting successful hybrid teaching sessions.

Providing Guidance on Hybrid Teaching

Efterpi kicked off the presentation by defining hybrid teaching and in what contexts it provides the most benefit. She also emphasized common pitfalls instructors and teachers fall into when conducting hybrid sessions.

The second half was presented by Yannis who gave guidance on the use of learning technology, educational guidelines, and best practices for conducting sessions where learners may be attending both virtually and physically.

The majority of the guidance is applicable in many contexts where remote sessions are involved and the use of learning technology tools can help make sessions engaging and more easily managed.
