The Learning Technology team is pleased to announce the interim extension of iris (the learning management system in the East of the organisation) to the whole Trust.
The change will impact staff in both the East and West, due to the following:
Login system changes
As part of welcoming new colleagues into iris, we are simplifying the process of receiving an account and logging onto the system.
Staff from the West, and new starters from the East, can self-register for an account on iris and set their own password.
In future, all staff will set their own password for iris and will be able to reset it themselves.
For now, staff from the East who joined the Trust before 27th August 2021 should continue to log in using their Trust IT password, via the blue login button (unless they have been migrated to the pink button).
This will be phased out by the middle of 2022 and we will communicate about this further in the coming months.
Change of web address
We have updated the iris web address to reflect the merged organisation. The new web address for accessing iris is http://iris.uhsussex.nhs.uk.
If you have bookmarked course pages on iris please update them over the coming months. In the meantime, old links will redirect automatically to the new domain for the time being.
New learning technologist
In order to extend the provision of learning technology to the wider Trust, we have welcomed a new learning technologist to our team. Efterpi Emmanouilidou has an extensive background in education, and a passion for technology and its impact on learning.
Efterpi’s main duties will be to support the West sites with access to digital learning and teaching tools as well as training and consultation.
