LactMed is a database of drugs and chemicals to which breastfeeding mothers may be exposed.
This evidence-based information includes reliable data on:
- maternal and infant levels of drugs
- possible adverse effects on breastfed infants and on lactation
- alternative drugs to consider
The database is searchable from different approaches; by drug name, pharmacologic category, Chemical Abstracts Service Registry Number or subject terms.
