Lockdown measures easing: Library update

In line with University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust guidance, a surgical face mask is required to be worn at all times in our libraries and visitors are asked to maintain a distance from other library users and staff, especially in our Computer and Study rooms.

Please read our COVID-19 Charter before visiting our libraries.

Mill View Hospital Library

We regret a maximum of just six people will be allowed to work or study at Mill View Library at any one time due to its size. Contact us for advice or to reserve a pc ahead.

Teaching

On-site teaching is taking place throughout the summer in our training rooms at the RSCH and PRH libraries. Places are limited due to the confined space but you can also attend these remotely if preferred. Dates and booking details are here: www.bsuh.nhs.uk/library/information-skills

*Some sessions will be available online-only and are clearly marked on the booking details.

Sanitization measures

We’re taking extra measures to protect our staff and library users, such as wiping all door handles, computers, phones and self-issue kiosks with clinical wipes on a regular basis. Wipes are also available for you to wipe down pcs and desk areas after you have used them. Hand sanitisers are in the public areas of all our libraries.

All our returned books are being quarantining for three days and wiped them down before re-shelving. This may cause slight delays before books are available so thank you for your patience.

 Loan periods

Please note the loan period for all items is now 28 days. We will contact you if your book has been requested by another member; otherwise you can renew books online twice with your library membership number and PIN. Ask library staff for a PIN, or contact us to renew your books for you.
