Health Information Week is a national, multi-sector campaign to promote high quality information for patients and the public.
High quality health information can have a huge impact on people’s ability to stay healthy and manage illnesses effectively, giving them a better quality of life. The last year has shown us how important it is to be able to understand and use good health information and, crucially, be able to identify credible resources in the first place.
The themes for this year are:
- Monday: Health information for children and young people
- Tuesday: Vaccines
- Wednesday: “Oh, I don’t know what to believe…”
- Thursday: Digital health
- Friday: Health information for everyone
- Saturday: Quality marks
Keep an eye on the @Healthinfoweek twitter feed for lots of information and advice about health literacy every day during Health Information Week, with links to useful health resources for each day. The hashtag this year will be #HIW2021, so please use this if you use Twitter!
