Happy International Nurses’ Day!

International Nurses’ Day is celebrated around the world each year on 12 May, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. It provides an opportunity to mark the contribution of nursing staff and reflect on their vital work.

The International Council of Nurses theme for 2021 is A vision for future healthcare. The day seeks to acknowledge and celebrate the commitment and bravery of nurses around the world, and highlight the ways nurses are innovating and what nursing may look like in the future.

Our specialty resource list to support nursing practice and professional development has been recently updated. As well as a wide range of books and journals, we provide access to specialist nursing databases such as BNI, CINAHL and EMCARE, and online resources such as the Royal Marsden Manual and ClinicalSkills.net. See our resources page for full details.

We look forward to celebrating with a cream tea alongside our nursing colleagues at University Hospitals Sussex today!
