The Sussex Education Centre in Hove houses the Mill View Library. As the building is now a vaccination hub, there will be no access to the library for library staff and users. We expect this to continue for twelve weeks from 18 January and will advise if this changes.
Our libraries at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath are still available for use. Although we are operating with reduced opening hours and staffing levels, our team are more than able to deal with your enquiries or requests for evidence searches and can help you access online resources.
Below are our staffed hours over the next few weeks.
*Please note, these are subject to change at short notice depending on staff fitness to work so you are advised to ring ahead of your visit if you need to speak to staff.
RSCH, Brighton – 01273 523300 Monday – Friday 09.00am – 5.00pm
PRH, Haywards Heath – 01444 441881 x65596 Monday – Friday 09.00am – 5.00pm
Contact us on bsuh.library@nhs.net for 24 hour access at RSCH and PRH libraries.
Keeping safe in our libraries
Under Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals Trust policy, a surgical face mask must be worn at all times. Anyone not complying will be asked to leave for the safety of other library users.
Please ensure you maintain a 2m distance from colleagues and read our COVID-19 Charter before visiting our libraries.
Sanitization measures
We’re taking extra measures to protect our staff and library users, such as wiping all door handles, computers, phones and self-issue kiosks with clinical wipes on a regular basis. Wipes are also available for you to wipe down PCs and desk areas after you have used them. Hand sanitisers are in the public areas of all our libraries.
All our returned books are being quarantining for three days and wiped them down before re-shelving. This may cause slight delays before books are available so thank you for your patience.
Extended loan periods
The loan period for all items is still eight weeks. You will be contacted if your book is needed by another member; otherwise you can renew online as many times as needed. See instructions here: www.bsuh.nhs.uk/library/accessing-information/ (under Guide to Your Online Library Account).
