6th December: The Royal Sussex County Hospital Library

At the RSCH Library in the Audrey Emerton Building, we offer resources to support lifelong learning, research and innovation. Within the library, we provide space to sit and work at computers or you can bring your own device. We have group study rooms, which can be booked by small groups to use for study or other educational purposes.

We offer a range of print books to support students from Brighton and Sussex Medical School, as well as staff from BSUH, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Sussex Community NHS Trust, NHS Brighton and Hove, and the Public Health teams at Brighton and Hove and East Sussex.

Our Enquiry Desk is staffed from 9 -5 Monday through Friday. We can help answer questions about how to access the physical and electronic resources that we offer or help you find the resources you need.

As a library member, you can apply for 24 hour access at the RSCH, which allows access to the library anytime, day or night.

You can use our self issue kiosk to borrow or return books.

We also have a range of health promotion leaflets, as well as various models that you can borrow. We also hold the historic Sakula Collection, which is comprised of approximately 400 books and pamphlets on subjects such as the history of medicine, pioneers of medicine and some specialist subjects such as infectious diseases. To access the collection, contact the library to arrange an appointment.
