Meet our new Medical School Librarian

We’re pleased to welcome Steve Bowman, our new Medical School Librarian to our team.  Steve is also the BSMS Technology Enhanced Learning Lead and joined us in April.

Many of you will eventually meet and work with Steve but here’s a little more about him.

“I am delighted to be joining BSMS at this ‘interesting’ time! For the last 4 years I worked at London South Bank University (LSBU), firstly as the Academic Liaison Librarian for the School of Health and Social Care (6,000 students!), and latterly as the ‘Learning and Teaching Librarian’ for the entire university. This role concentrated on embedding Digital Competencies and Information Literacy teaching within the curriculum in all departments of the Uni.

“Prior to working at LSBU I was Deputy Librarian at the University of Chichester based at the Bognor Regis campus, just along the coast. I have a mixed library and e-learning background, with an MA in ‘Information Management’ (from UoB), and an MSc in ‘E-learning’ (from the University of Edinburgh).

“I was born in Brighton, and have always lived in Sussex, my interests outside of work include Film and Cinema (favourite director David Cronenberg), book collecting (mainly sci-fi first editions), and music (I still have a large collection of vinyl!).

“I look forward to working with you all over the coming months!””
