International Nurses’ Day is celebrated around the world each year on 12 May, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. It provides an opportunity to mark the contribution of nursing staff and reflect on their vital work.
This year is the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife (the 200th anniversary of Nightingale’s birth), but it has also been a year when we are thankful to all nurses across the world for their tireless efforts in responding to the coronavirus pandemic.
