It’s Open Access Week 21 – 27 October!

With Open Access week upon us, the University of Sussex has a great programme on again this year.

There is the usual support from Library Services on Open Access, including advice on making your publication REF ready and details of discount schemes with publishers for Article Processing Charges: https://www.sussex.ac.uk/library/research/openaccess

In addition, the library is running a number of bespoke events:

Monday 21 October Open Access publishing – Introductory session for PhD students.
Tuesday 22 &

Wednesday 23 October

Escape Room: an evil publisher has locked all scholarship behind a paywall and time is running out to make it freely available!  Helen Webb, Research Support Librarian will lead you in this race against time.
Thursday 24 October Screening of Paywall: a look at the $25.2 billion industry that is scholarly publishing. There will also be time for discussion after the screening and I’m sure it will be lively.

Places are filling up fast for all sessions, so book on if you want to attend: https://www.sussex.ac.uk/library/research/seminarsandevents/oa-week

So get along to Sussex, for what will be an exciting week of events, celebrating the world of open access.
