New 3D female anatomy model for BSMS medical students

BBC News have reported on a new  3D female anatomy model which is being used to teach first year medical students at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. You can see the report here.

Professor Claire Smith from Brighton and Sussex Medical School spoke about the impact of having both female and male anatomy models available in Elsevier’s ‘Complete Anatomy’ to teach first year medical students. The new tool will provide a better understanding of the female anatomy and help to prevent women getting incorrectly diagnosed.

The programme has been set up through a collaboration between the BSMS TEL Team, Elsevier, and the Anatomy Laboratory at BSMS.

Here’s Professor Smith’s own tweet about what this means for her teaching.
