TRIP is a medical database and a clinical search engine that enables health professionals to quickly and easily find and use high-quality research evidence to support their practice.
Over the last year, TRIP has been undergoing extensive modernisation to improve the user interface.
The biggest change has been the shift of the Evidence type filters from the right to the left of the results page. The Clinical areas filters are available below them.
Beside the cleaner interface there are some new icons:
The new TRIP interface is also scalable, so will display correctly on mobile and tablets.
A brief overview video and a key to the results page are also available.
On top of this more technical upgrade, there was an upgrade to an already comprehensive coverage of clinical guidelines. Until now, guidelines were sourced directly from professional associations and guideline repositories. Now PubMed is also being used as a major source of guidelines.
TRIP Pro is a premium version with more content and functionality. It has been made available to all NHS staff by Health Education England; simply register here to set up your account.
Once registered, you can access Trip Pro from any computer.
