BSUH supports Dignity Action Day #DAD2017

There has been a significant amount of activity and effort to mark Dignity Action Day 2017, which fell on 1 February and is all about focusing on upholding people’s rights to dignity and providing a truly memorable day for patients.

DignityDayThe day aims to ensure people who use care services are treated as individuals and are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their daily lives.

BSUH Chief Nurse Helen O’Dell explains: “There are many ways in which staff from across the Trust have done just that, from tea parties and cake sales, to treating patients to manicures.

“Staff have also used innovative and creative ideas such as displaying a dignity tree, ‘digni-tree’, for patients and staff to share their views on what dignity in care means for them.”

There has been a real flurry of activity on Twitter. Click ‘follow’ on the BSUH Twitter feed, ‘@BSUH_NHS’, to stay tuned to further updates in connection with Dignity Action Day and much more from across the Trust. Likewise, please do ‘like’ the BSUH Facebook page, ‘@BSUHHospital’.
