Neonatal services

Welcome

Our neonatal services provide care to babies who require special care, high dependency care or intensive care. Intensive care is needed only by the most premature or sick babies.

Our service is provided from both the Trevor Mann Baby Unit at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and the Special Care Baby Unit at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.

We know this is a worrying time for you, but we will do everything we can to help you and to care for your baby.

"During our time on the unit, we cried and prayed more than we ever had before – sometimes we cried more on the good days, because every small step of recovery reminded us of the miracle of our little boy. The doctors and nurses who looked after Lewis (and us), were truly inspirational and we will be eternally indebted and grateful to them.” - Nicola Austin.

Support our work

We’re grateful for donations to our BSUH Charity and charity partners. Donations help us to purchase equipment, improve the environment and deliver even better care over and above what is funded by the NHS.
