Dietetics

What we do

Dietitians assess, diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional problems. We educate and give practical advice to clients, patients, carers and colleagues to enable people to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices.

Our team consists of qualified HCPC registered dietitians, dietetic assistants and administration support.

Conditions treated

Patients present with conditions such as:

  • Weight problems (either underweight or overweight)
  • Diabetes
  • Food allergies and intolerances
  • Digestive disorders such as Coeliac disease, IBS and IBD
  • Stroke
  • Cancers
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Kidney disease

How to prepare for your appointment

If a food diary has been sent out with your appointment letter, please ensure that you complete it as accurately as possible and bring it along with you to the first appointment

What to expect while under our care

At your first appointment your condition will be assessed and an appropriate course of treatment will be agreed; this may consist of dietary advice, a short course of treatment or in some cases more prolonged dietetic care.
