Cardiac services at the Sussex Cardiac Centre
What we do
The Sussex Cardiac Centre provides care for patients with heart conditions and for those requiring heart surgery. We treat and diagnose heart disease, perform heart surgery and provide rehabilitation to help patients recover quickly after treatment.
Our investigations include ECG monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, tilt table testing, exercise tolerance testing and cardiopulmonary bike testing. We also do cardiac imaging, including MRI and CT scans, echocardiography and myocardial perfusion.

A 14 bedded acute cardiology ward (up to 8 of these beds can be coronary care beds) plus a cardiology day case unit with 12 trolleys. All our patients present with an acute cardiac event including myocardial infarction, heart failure and cardiac rhythm disturbances.
In our day case unit, patients come from home to have a cardiac procedure, such as a coronary angiogram, ablation studies and pacemaker insertion, and then go home following a short recovery period.
