Parent education classes

Resources and online courses during COVID-19

As you may be aware, all face to face antenatal classes led by our Midwives were sadly cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We were concerned about the impact this would have on our expecting parents and during this time we have been creating a fantastic resource of antenatal education mini clips, as well as Facebook Lives with Midwives and useful information for you, which you can find on our social media platforms as well as our BSUH Maternity Youtube channel. We have also created a Birth Preparation padlet which we continue to add to.

We will continue to make mini antenatal education video clips and information bundles and you can access these at any time.

Live online antenatal classes

To protect the families that are choosing to have their maternity/perinatal care with us, we will not be able to hold any face to face antenatal classes for the immediate future. However, we are very pleased to be able to  deliver online live antenatal classes.

If you have booked to have your first baby with us at  the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton or Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Health, you are entitled to attend our free antenatal Midwife taught course. A free course is also available for multiples. Unfortunately, we can’t offer refresher courses for those who are already parents at this time, but we will look again at this if the interest is there.

We are also offering low cost Waterbirth and Homebirth classes online.

Please book your place after you have had your 20 week scan.
