What to pack

Only 5% of babies actually come on their due date, so it is a good idea to have your bags packed and ready to go. Wherever you’re planning to have your baby you need to have a bag packed from around 36 weeks just in case of an emergency or the need to transfer to hospital.

Although it is tempting to put lots and lots of things in your bag, in reality you don’t really need very much. Space is limited so we ask you do not bring anything bigger than a ‘cabin sized’ bag. Please do not bring your baby’s car seat to the ward until your baby is born and you know you are going home.
