Opening times
All our libraries are open and our team is operating a mixture of home and on-site working. To comply with government guidance, everyone is required to wear a face mask and to please keep a 2m distance from staff and colleagues at all times. Below are our opening times for each site:
- RSCH, Brighton: Monday – Friday 09.00am – 5.00pm
- PRH, Haywards Heath: Monday – Friday 09.00am – 5,00pm
- Mill View, Hove: Monday – Friday 9.30 – 5.30pm

MVH library restrictions
We regret a maximum of just six people will be allowed to work or study in the MVH Library at any one time due to social distancing guidance. Email bsuh.library@nhs.net for advice or to reserve a pc ahead.
Facemasks
Please note: under BSUH Trust regulations, facemasks are required at all times when using the RSCH and PRH libraries. You can collect a mask from the main entrances of both hospitals.
Sanitization measures
We’re taking extra measures to protect our staff and library users, such as cleaning all door handles, computers, phones and self-issue kiosks with clinical wipes on a regular basis. Wipes are also available for you to clean pcs and desk areas after you have used them. Hand sanitisers are in the public areas of all our libraries.
All our returned books are being quarantined for three days and wiped before re-shelving. This may cause slight delays before books are available so thank you for your patience.
Teaching
On-site teaching has resumed in our training rooms at the RSCH and PRH libraries. Places are limited to comply with social distancing guidance but you online-only sessions are also offered. Dates and booking details are here: www.bsuh.nhs.uk/library/information-skills
Extended loan periods
The loan period for all items has been extended to 8 weeks. You will be contacted if your book is needed by another member; otherwise you can renew online as many times as needed. See instructions here: www.bsuh.nhs.uk/library/accessing-information/ (under Guide to Your Online Library Account).
Handling cash
