By car
Onsite pay-and-display car parking is available but it is over-subscribed and long waits are common.
There is limited short-term on-street pay-and-display parking in the vicinity of the hospital.
We recommend that you use public transport if at all possible.
By bus
Routes 1, 1A, 7, N7 14B, 14C, 23, 27C, 37, 37B, 47, 52, 57, 71, 73, 94A, 271 and 272 all stop outside the hospital.

The 271 and 272 bus services run between the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Sussex County Hospital. These services are free to patients carrying an appointment letter for the date of travel.
By train
Brighton Station is the nearest station. From the station, you can catch a bus or get a taxi to the hospital. Bus route 7 runs to the hospital from stop A at the front of the station up to every 6 minutes.
Patient transport service
The patient transport service is available for patients who are unable (for medical reasons) to use public or private transport.
Parking advice

Multi-storey car park
The multi-storey car park is situated on the North Access Road which is accessed from Bristol Gate, third entry on the left (immediately after the A&E entrance).
There are 20 disabled bays located on Level 6 and 6a which gives direct access into the hospital and 6 dedicated renal bays for regular renal patients.
There are 4 drop off/pick-up bays located next to the multi-storey car park (these are primarily for the use of parents/guardians dropping children off for the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital).
A&E
There is limited access to the A&E forecourt with 4 drop-off bays.
Other parking
At the front of the main hospital site there is a pay and display car park for patients and visitors only. It has 12 disabled bays outside the Physiotherapy Department (Latilla building) and 5 disabled bays by the car park entrance.

Less than 2 hours: £2.50
2 – 4 hours: £3.80
4 – 6 hours: £5.00
6 – 12 hours: £10.00
12 – 24 hours: £18.00
Over 24 hours: £18.00 plus the appropriate tariff above for the excess time parked
Concessions are available for cancer centre patients, patients who are in hospital for a long period and their relatives and carers. Parking is free for specific patient groups such as those undergoing regular dialysis.
Income from car parking charges is re-invested in the management and maintenance of the Trust’s car parks and in green travel plan initiatives, including the inter-site bus service.

Visiting times on all wards are 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 8.30pm.

Due to the current coronavirus situation, Sussex Eye Hospital A&E department have adapted the arrangements for those coming into the hospital in order to protect our patients, staff and hospitals.
If you have an urgent eye condition that requires emergency assistance, please follow the guidelines below:
- Please call 01273 664874, where we will provide an immediate telephone consultation and will see you urgently in person if required.
Please do not turn up without calling first. Please be assured that this phone line will be staffed 24/7.
- If you are unable to call in advance, please come to the Sussex Eye Hospital A&E Entrance where you will be met by a nurse who will make an immediate assessment.
Please Note: If you or anyone in your household have Coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms – a new continuous cough or a high temperature (above 37.8 degrees) – please stay at home and follow the Public Health England guidance for staying at home for more information. Please do not attend Sussex Eye Hospital.
