You can view bus times online or call Brighton and Hove Bus Company on 01273 886 200.

The 271 and 272 bus services run between the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Sussex County Hospital. These services are free to patients carrying an appointment letter for the date of travel.

By train

Brighton Station is the nearest station. From the station, you can catch a bus or get a taxi to the hospital. Bus route 7 runs to the hospital from stop B at the front of the station up to every 6 minutes.

By car

Onsite pay-and-display car parking is available but it is over-subscribed and long waits are common.

There is limited short-term on-street pay-and-display parking in the vicinity of the hospital.

We recommend that you use public transport if at all possible.

Patient transport service

The patient transport service is available for patients who are unable (for medical reasons) to use public or private transport.

We welcome visitors and the involvement of carers. Parents can visit anytime but other visitors will be asked to come between 9am and 8pm to ensure your child gets enough rest. Special arrangements can be made with the ward staff for people who need to visit outside these hours.

Staff may sometimes ask for the number of visitors to be restricted if they feel this will help your child’s recovery. Siblings and other children need to be supervised by their parents.

Parking is very limited so please arrive early for your appointment.
