Celebrating milestones and incredible motivation, BSUH Charity would like to thank all of the runners who continued their training and ran their hearts out!
BSUH Charity was delighted to be chosen as the 2020 Brighton Marathon Local Charity Partner. No one could have predicted a global pandemic making its way to the UK just months before the big race. Despite best efforts to host an edited version, the Brighton Marathon was held as a virtual event this year. Organisers responsibly responded to the rise in coronavirus cases locally and the pressure on our health services. The event was changed to be fully virtual at the last minute.
Many runners still took part in the virtual event. We are thrilled to congratulate those who have successfully completed the Brighton Marathon!
Zeina Clare, a nurse in training at BSUH, was inspired by her fellow colleagues to raise funds. Zeina beamed, “Running the BM10k this year is ever more important as the charity strives to provide the support hospital staff need now more than ever.”
Running 3 marathons for BSUH Charity, Zingy Thetho has truly gone the distance! She was featured on the BBC during the London Marathon coverage and is a local hero to all of us in Brighton. Zingy was overjoyed when she completed the London Marathon on the 4th October and has carried on recovering and running ever since.
