We’ve had a busy start to 2019, with a January raffle, a stall at BHASVIC Futures Fair and fundraisers training for the Brighton Half Marathon and Brighton Marathon.
We have six runners fundraising for us in the Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday 24 February. Do give them a big cheer if you spot them go past in one of our running vests.
Six is the magic number, as we’ve also got six runners taking part in the Brighton Marathon in April who are fundraising for us. We wish them all the best with their training over the coming weeks.
Big Raffle & Big Drop
We are extremely thankful to the various local businesses that generously supported our January raffle by donating fabulous prizes.
The goodies on offer ranged from spa passes, to yummy meals, wine tours, to Sussex jams, Brighton Pier passes and a cocktail making class.
The draw took place on 31 January. All the lucky winners have now been contacted. As those winners enjoy their prizes, 25 of our other supporters may well be scratching their heads.
They are probably beginning to wonder why they thought it was a good idea to abseil off the i360 in May…
Going Down – the i360 abseil
On Sunday 19 May 2019, the brave group will take the plunge and abseil down the side of the iconic Brighton i360. They can expect stunning views as they raise vital funds going towards helping BSUH NHS Trust.
Each fundraiser is aiming to raise at least £500. We think they are heroes in the making, and are grateful to them as they start their fundraising in earnest.
You can find details of how to support them on JustGiving.

Don’t keep your trainers shut up inside!
All our generous fundraisers are helping us to make things better for patients in our four hospitals. The generosity of their supporters helps us provide kit and training. Charitable funds are used spent on items that go above and beyond what we can do with core government funding.
Are you, and your trainers, longingly looking out of the window itching to get outside and take on a challenge? Why not check out our events page for information and suggestions.
If baking cakes is more your thing than exercising your muscles don’t worry. Keep an eye out for exciting NHS Charity news in the coming weeks and stock up your baking cupboard!

Get ready to bake!
Thanks again to everyone for helping us get 2019 off to a flying start.
