Nigel already gives his time to support the urology department’s weekly clinics. His volunteer work has enabled him to witness just how busy the nurses are and the valuable care provided to patients. To give back to the department, he’s taking on a personal challenge to raise money for their charitable fund.
On the 29/30 April, Nigel will take on the Isle of Wight Challenge. The Challenge follows the coastal path loop right around England’s largest island. Though challenge participants will enjoy fantastic scenery, white cliffs, sandy beaches and stunning views, the trek will generate a fair bit of personal discomfort and sleep deprivation. The 106km undulating coastal path will certainly test Nigel!
Inspired by the experience he had under the care of the urology department at the hospital over a 4 year period, Nigel is fundraising because he is “forever grateful to the staff who helped me through a difficult period in my life.”
