Obs and Gynae

Welcome to the KSS and London Postgraduate Deaneries and the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department of the Brighton and Sussex University Hospital NHS Trust. We hope you will enjoy your time with us and that you will leave us feeling confident in your ability to deal with and advise about obstetric and gynaecology problems as they present in the community or form a foundation for your ongoing specialist training.

During your time with us you will be based either at the Royal Sussex County Hospital where you may be required to travel to the Princess Royal Hospital site for elective in-patient operating lists, or you will be based at the Princess Royal Hospital.   There are also some clinics and day case lists at the Victoria Hospital in Lewes.

The curriculum for Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialty can be found at on the RCOG website. The O&G Local Faculty Group (LFG) is responsible for ensuring that the O&G programmed activities are such that they will enable you to meet specific competencies required in any given year by your specialist curriculum. The local programme is thus mapped to the national O&G curriculum and your timetable and teaching topics will cover aspects of your curriculum.

For further information about the O&G faculty please contact Linda Palmer, Faculty Administrator 01273 523326 linda.palmer@bsuh.nhs.uk or click on the faculty handbook below for further information.
