The Library Catalogue App, called BookMyne, is a free app that lets you search the library catalogue and manage your account.

 NICE BNF App

The National institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has made the British National Formulary (BNF) available as an app

How to access the NICE BNF App

This BNF app is available free to NHS staff throughout England, all you require is a NHS Athens username and password. The app can be downloaded from:

To use the NICE BNF app for the first time, you will need to:

1.   Click on 'Sign in'

2.   You will be asked  to“Please sign in with your NHS Athens account.

3.   Enter your NHS Athens username and password
 
4.   If you are an NHS user and do not have an Athens account, click Register to to be taken to the registration page

5.   Click Sign in again
 
6.   Downloading to device may take up to 10 minutes

Best Practice combines the latest research evidence, guidelines and expert opinion – presented in a step-by-step approach, covering prevention, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.

How to access Best Practice mobile website

1.   Make sure you have a current NHS Athens account.

2.   Once only, create your 'My Best Practice' personal account: 

2.1.   From a trust computer access Best Practice at: http://bestpractice.bmj.com/ 

For security reasons it is not possible to set up a mobile account from a non trust computer.

2.2.  Click on Athens users sign in here and enter your NHS Athens username and password

2.3.  Click on ‘My Best Practice’ and then click on Register for your personal account.  Enter your email and create a password when required.

3.  Using your smartphone visit the Best Practice mobile website: http://bp.bmjgroup.mobi and enter your email address and ‘My Best Practice’ password when requested

How to access Best Practice app

1.   Make sure you have a current NHS Athens account.

3.  Using your smartphone Search for “BMJ decision support” in the Apple iTunes Store and download the app

4.  Log in with your ‘My Best Practice’ account username and password. The ‘account’ page can be accessed from ‘Settings’ (iPhone, iPod Touch) or ‘Subscriptions’ (iPad).

5. All topics’ will automatically begin to download.

6. Download images. Your subscription also includes a separate download of all the images used to illustrate Best Practice guidance. These are not included in the initial download for size reasons.

Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin (DTB) provides rigorous and independent evaluations of, and practical advice on, individual treatments and the overall management of disease for doctors, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.

How to access Drugs and Therapeutics Bulletin

1.   Make sure you have a current NHS Athens account.

2.   Using your smartphone or tablet visit the Drugs and Therapeutics Bulletin mobile website at: http://m.dtb.bmj.com/?

3.   Click on 'Login and settings'

4.   Click 'Sign into access your personal data'

5.   Click 'Login via Athens or your home organisation'

6.   Click 'Login via Athens;


MD Consult

This version of MD Consult has been optimized for mobile access. It is easy to search and has full-text  articles from over 80 medical journals and Clinics, 50 leading medical reference books across a wide range of specialties.

How to access MD Consult

1.   Make sure you have a current NHS Athens account.

2.   Make sure you not logged into MD Consult on a PC.

3.   Using your smartphone or tablet vist the MD Consult Mobile site at: http://mobile.mdconsult.com

4.   Click on 'Athens User Login' underneath the username and password boxes.

NOTE: Users must log out of MD Consult on the workstation before logging into their phone.

1.   Make sure you have a current NHS Athens account or are using a computer on NHSnet

2.   Using your smartphone or tablet log visit the BNF mobile site at: http://bnf.org/bnf/

3.   Click on 'Sign In' on the top left of the page

4    Click 'login via Athens'
