Priority is given to research linked to these programmes, as well as studies conducted in accordance with local research networks for Cancer, Stroke and Dementia.
The CIRU is expressly designed to provide bespoke facilities for clinical investigations, patient-centred research and research training. It offers facilities for day- and in-patients attending hospital for pre-planned treatment and/or clinical investigations conducted in accordance with validated research or clinical trial protocols.
It provides a safe and appropriately equipped environment for patients to attend the hospital for research purposes, in accordance with the research and development strategy of BSUH and BSMS.
It is a facility for the provision of education, training and clinical examinations.
