The aim of the group is to offer information and support to patients who have been diagnosed with oesophageal or stomach cancers, and their families.
The group was formed two years ago with meetings arranged for patients and their carers living in the south coast region. You are warmly invited to join us at these informal and friendly meetings which take place currently at The White Horse Hotel, Rottingdean, Brighton BN2 7HR.
Some patients may be newly diagnosed, some may have had or might beawaiting surgery; some may be having chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
At each meeting a clinical nurse specialist will usually be available to help with questions or problems that may arise. A dietitian will also be available whenever possible to give advice regarding eating problems which are very common for patients with these cancers.
Meetings are held four times a year and speakers are invited to each meeting to speak on subjects that patients have requested. They provide an opportunity to ask questions without embarrassment and to suggest future topics or speakers that would be of interest to you.
We currently number 26 patients and their partners/carers and meetings are well attended. Literature giving all kinds of advice is also provided.
Please note refreshments are available and there is car parking close by.
We look forward to welcoming you...
