National Transplant Week
If you believe in organ donation, prove it
For this year’s National Transplant Week, which runs between 4 and 10 July, NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is asking people across the UK to take the time to have a ‘Heart to Heart’ discussion with their loved ones over a meal.
NHSBT is working with celebrity chef, and kidney transplant recipient, Lawrence Keogh who has produced three exclusive recipes for a Heart to Heart meal pack available to download for free from today.
As part of the national programme, the 'heart to heart sofa' will be visiting Brighton Pier on Tuesday 6 July.
National Transplant Week gives the UK public a chance to sit with their friends and family to get talking about issues and conversations which can get put off in day-to-day life.

Organ Donation
Today more than 9,000 people in the UK need an organ transplant that could save or dramatically improve lives.
Most are waiting for a kidney, others for a heart, lung or liver transplant, but fewer than 3,000 transplants are carried out each year.
Transplants are one of the most miraculous achievements of modern medicine, but they depend entirely on the generosity of donors and their families who are willing to make this life-saving gift to others.
