Overview

We are paediatric nurses who care for children who attend A&E between the hours of 7.45am and 8.15pm.

We also oversee the running of the paediatric   out-patients clinic which is run mainly by our paediatric Health Care Assistants (HCAs).

GPs and hospital or community consultants can also request that we carry out procedures, such as taking blood or inserting NG tubes from children, which can be undertaken by appointment in our out-patient suite Monday - Friday. At times it may be necessary for these procedures to be undertaken in our A&E area if out of regular hours, but the nurse you speak to will advise you of where to come.

Please be reassured that the care we give is paediatric orientated, and we are well used to adapting to each individual child based on their age, stage of development and understanding of what we will be doing.
