The BSUH Trust is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and support of cancer patients in Sussex. So, what better way to raise money and awareness for our local cancer charity, The Sussex Cancer Fund, than by bringing together staff of all grades and departments from all over the trust in one huge charity video event?
Dr Nigel Marchbank came up with the idea of doing ‘Amarillo’ with the hospital staff; no mean feat in a busy teaching hospital - so armed with a camera and a persuasive tongue, Dr Hugh Harvey spent three weeks pestering hospital consultants and staff from all departments, gathering small segments of footage to combine into the final video.
The completed film was finished just in time to be used as the opening for the junior doctor’s yearly comedy show, which managed to raise 450 pounds in an evening (and split a few sides).
