Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH) has signed a contract with Alert Life Sciences Computing S.A., for a full Electronic Patient Record System that includes urgent care, order communications and results reporting, eprescribing and medication administration, integrated care pathways and care planning, decision support and clinical integration.
BSUH commenced ASCC procurement on 29 March 2011. Evaluation of the three final bidders took place over the summer and Alert’s proposals emerged as “the most economically advantageous”.
BSUH’s Chief Executive, Duncan Selbie said:
“I am delighted to confirm Alert Life Sciences as our EPR Contractor. This is the culmination of two years intensive work by many and is a defining and landmark moment. All those involved in the programme to date are now ready to start implementation in earnest. EPR is an important element in our plans to invest and develop as a young and ambitious teaching hospital. The comprehensive functionality, clinical buy-in, and Alert’s modern approach to implementation give us great confidence that we will achieve something of superb clinical benefit"
César Guimarães, CEO of Alert Life Sciences Computing S.A. said:
“Securing this contract has been important for our business in the UK. We plan to build on our experience in the NHS and elsewhere and to implement a showcase EPR to support BSUH’s ambitions."
