Welcome to BSUH’s Hospital Star Awards. Run in association with The Argus newspaper, this annual event recognises and rewards the efforts of clinical, non-clinical, frontline and ‘behind the scenes’ staff in all our hospitals and clinics.

The evening award ceremony being held at Brighton's Corn Exchange on the Tuesday 25 September 2012 will be hosted by local comedian Stephen Grant and attended by BSUH staff, representatives from The Argus and local businesses.

As in previous years, the winners will be decided by a panel of independent judges, to be announced.

Award winners will receive prizes donated by local businesses and the runners-up for each category will also be recognised during the evening ceremony.

2. Midwife of the year

3. Healthcare Assistant of the year

4. Doctor of the year
   (including doctors of all grades)

5. Allied Health Professional of the year
   (e.g. Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Radiographer, Pharmacist, Psychologist)

6. Cleaner of the year

7. Support services star of the year - frontline
   (e.g. Receptionist, Porter, Domestic staff, Phlebotomist, non-qualified support staff)

8. Support services star of the year - behind the scenes
   (e.g. Administrative and clerical, Maintenance staff, Finance, HR)

9. Team of the year

10. Volunteer of the year

11. Outstanding leadership award

12. Educator/Mentor of the year

13. Good news story of the year

14. The Chief Executive’s special award
    (The Chief Executive selected one winner from the nominations submitted in all 13 categories)
