Lusaka Brighton Link history

This picture shows a view in Lusaka

The initiative came from Melanie Newport (Senior lecturer in infectious diseases) at the Medical School who has worked quite extensively in Africa, particularly undertaking research in her field.

People are drawn from the acute trust, medical school, universities and community, doctors, nurses, lab scientists, managers and medical students are all involved.

An initial visit to Lusaka in Feb 2006 was organised to coincide with final exams so that several of the visitors could be external examiners. The visit also enabled a start to be made looking at areas of collaboration.

The steering committee meets every 2 months and minutes are sent to the wider group. Anyone wishing to attend a meeting should contact the secretary Meg Price via email on price.meg49@yahoo.com
